Wow – not the way we intended to end our 2019/2020 fundraising year but we still did pretty good in the end!
Wow – not the way we intended to end our 2019/2020 fundraising year but we still did pretty good in the end!
The last few months have been very quiet for us due to the worldwide Covid pandemic however we’re pleased to report that the couple of events we held up until mid-March were very successful.
JCF member Rebecca Henley who is based in Brisbane, Queensland helped to co-ordinate aid parcels to areas affected by the recent bush fires in Australia. When Becky put a shout out for help little did she expect to get such a great response!! See what Becky achieved by checking out the JCF Australia Facebook page
In November, Emma and team at JCF Sussex held their first quiz night which was very successful and a good time was had by all! As a result of the quiz night we were able to send £410.00 to Hessa’s Helpless Hounds who are based in Hertforshire, UK. December was a very busy month with JCF Mexico holding their annual Cookies & Carols event, followed by a Festival of Trees and then Christmas Music Madness. Fundación Aitana AC, a children’s cancer unit in Cancun benefited from these events. In the UK, JCF North Devon held 2 Christmas events including traditional community carol singing and a collection of popular Christmas songs – both events hosted by Tamsin Ball (JCF Patron) and Meg Scoins. Funds raised from these events are being added to the amounts going to North Devon Animal Ambulance and Special Olympics North Devon which will be handed over in…
In August JCF Sussex held their first sponsored walk at Tilgate Park, Crawley raising funds for Tower Hill Stables Animal Sanctuary thanks to Emma and her team. Also in August, JCF Mexico, with Jaden and team held a rooftop Zumbathon (in the Caribbean shade!!) and a Variety Night with funds raised going to SOS El Arca and Mexipaws. In September JCF North Devon held a Food & Drink quiz including food samples which was good fun! Proceeds to be added to the amount being raised for North Devon Animal Ambulance and Special Olympics North Devon.
The JCF AGM was once again held via Skype on 21st July due to JCF teams being located in different parts of the world. All is going well and great news that the teams in the UK and Mexico have increased in the last few months. Please check our “How You Help” page to see the latest distribution of funds.
Wow what an event!! After a few travel hiccups Jaden made it all the way from Puerto Morelos, Mexico to Barnstaple, North Devon, UK – the home of JC Fundraising for our 10 Year JCF Anniversary Celebration on 21st June. There were a few travel hiccups but he got there with just half an hour to spare! The celebration took us back 10 years to when JCF first started by revisiting the songs made famous by Olivia Newton-John. It was a great evening enjoyed by all and it resulted in us giving a donation of £420.00 to the Olivia Newton-John Cancer Wellness & Research Centre.
Although our website News page seems to be a bit quiet our volunteers are still keeping busy. Since the last update JCF North Devon has held a couple of quiz nights but Jaden’s team in Puerto Morelos has been very busy! Since January there has been a wine tasting evening, a Sangria competition and regular bingo afternoons. Next on the list is a Margarita competition which is being held on 25th May. See our events page for information and if in doubt please check our Facebook pages for the UK and Mexico.
Quiz nights and open mic nights along with Carols for Charity were among the events held by JCF North Devon in the last few months and JCF Mexico have been very busy with their events including their second Cookies and Carols event. JCF Australia is hoping to make another visit to the New Hope Orphanage in Beijing sometime in the future to take out further supplies for the children. Please keep an eye on our Facebook page for any updates regarding this. Behind the scenes several of our volunteers have taken part in non-fundraising events to help charities, good causes and NFP organisations whenever they can for which we’re very grateful for and hope those who have been aided are too.
A first for us as we’re now far and wide!! JCF teams from around the world were invited to join in with the AGM via Skype. Good reviews and encouragement for all!! The next Skype AGM will be on 21st July 2019 – check our events page for updates.
