End of year Dogs Helping Kids donation (2013/14)

On Friday 23rd May 2014 Jaden and Cathy were pleased to visit the Dogs Helping Kids HQ to present Tracey with a cheque for 1,400.00. The money was raised by the JCF volunteersover the previous 12 months byholding a car boot sale, quiz nights, asponsored walk along the Tarka Trail and a charity firewalk.

Jaden at the Queensmere Observatory 31st May & 1st June 2014

altJaden Cornelious will be accompanied by the lovely Sara B at the Queensmere Observatory, Sloughon Saturday 31st May and Sunday 1st June between 1.00pm – 4.30pmwhere they will be busking and raising funds for the Alexander Devine Children’s Hospice Service(Berkshire)andChildren in Distress.

Not only will Jaden and Sara be singing but they willalso joined by the fabulous Mickey Mouse and Princess Sophia on Saturday and then on Sunday Buzz Lightyear and Woody will be popping by!!!

The fun doesn’t end there ………….. there will be Zumba and Salsa-ing going on as well ……… didn’t know Mickey couldZumba!!

If you’re in the area please go along and toss a few coinsor notes in the collection buckets – 100% of what isdonated will go to charity.

New roles for London volunteers

As from May 2014 Jaden and the team are pleased to announce that Julia Romp has agreed to take on the role of London manager/co-ordinator and Helen Gill has agreed to take on the role of secretary.

Both ladies are looking forward to working alongside the Devon team and also looking forward to the challenges ahead!

Annual JCF Firewalk – Saturday 15th March 2014

After the success of runningour lastsponsored Firewalk which raisedover 5,000 for good causes, we’re doing it all over again!!!

AsDogs Helping Kids is our 201/14 chosen charity so we would love it if you would help us raise funds for them but if there is a recognised charity or good casueclose to your heart you are welcome to raise funds for them instead.

The event is being held in association with the Big Sheep, Bideford, North Devon on Saturday 15th Marchwith registration at 4.45pm, training willstart at 5.00pm and the actual Firewalk will start at approx 7.00pm.

The event is being run by the well respected Firewalk company Blaze. They are highly professional and their safety standards are second to none.

Sadly our dear friend Barry Portelli has lost his fight with Ewing’s Sarcoma. Thank you to eveyone who supported our appeal to helpwith Barry’s transport costs to hospital for his chemo treatment earlier this year.Our thoughts are with Barry’s family and friends at this sad time.

Georgina runs for Derian House Children’s Hospice

JCF volunteer Georgina Green completed the Wigan 10k in September 2013and now all the money has been collected we’re very pleased to say that Georgina raised a fantastic total of 215.00 for Derian House Children’s Hospice, Chorley, Lancs.

JCFwould like to thank Gina for training and taking part in her first sponsored run and congratulate her on herfirst JCF fundraising event. We would also like to thank all her friends and family for supporting her. Wonder if she’ll be doing it again next year ?!!!

Charity Dog Show – 26th October 2013

poster 26.10.13The Barking Mad Charity Family Dog Show is taking place at the Braunton Recreation Ground, Braunton, North Devon on Saturday 26th of October with the help from the guys at K9 Focus – a dog rescue centre based in North Devon. All profits from the day will be divided between Dogs Helping Kids and The Voice FM CIC a not for profit community radion station (a Community Interest Company).

Registration is from 11.30am and the first class will start at 12 noon.

Although there are the usual dog show classes, JCF wanted to do a dog show that is a little bit different so we have included classes such as Doggy Fancy Dress, Kids Doggy look-a-like Fancy Dress with face painters on site to lend a helping hand. Not only will there be the usual dog agility class but we thought we would do a fun kids team agility class as well – 3 in a team up to the age of 12 years!!

The Dogs Trust are offering free micro-chipping on the day.

The lead sponsors for the day so far are Nature’s Way, Andy Casey Photography and Alan Schofield Photography plus many others.
