Tyler’s appeal for Electric Wheelchair

In March 2016 the JCF West London team supported an event to raise funds and awareness for an illness named Ataxia. At this event manager Julia Romp was privileged to meet a 9 year old boy called Tyler who was there along with his family. Tyler has been diagnosed with Freidreichs Ataxia (FRDA)which is a disease of the central nervous system.

The symptoms of FRDAinclude difficulty withbalance (disequilibrium), impaired coordination of legs or arms and a thick or slurred speech (dysarthria). Besides having these symptoms Tyler also has cardiomyopathy of his heart and scoliosis. He has gone from being a normally functioning young boy to a lad that can only move if supported bya family member, crawling, or his regular push along wheelchair.

JCF has been told that that it will cost in the region of 6,000 to fit Tyler with a purposebuilt electric wheelchair which will enhance his life, so much so that it is the aim of Julia and theJCF London team to help Tyler and his family make a considerable dent in their fundraising target.

If youwould liketogive toTyler’s wheelchair appealpleaseclick on the”Donate” buttonbelow to donate via PayPal, Credit Card or Debit Card where 100% of whatwe receivewill go to help buy Tyler his wheelchair.

Many thanks in anticipation of your help.

Street Care Appeal

We have recently been deeply moved by the plight of a homeless 64 year old woman Marie Parnes who has been living on the streets for the past seven and a half years after becoming a victim of domestic violence. She spends the nights riding busses, she is scared to sleep and NO ONE will help her because she fled her abusive English husband without the correct paperwork to get the help she needs. It doesn’t matter that she has had a stroke, has burns on her arm and a daughter that doesn’t want her – she just keeps being put back on the streets.

JCF NW London Manager, Hayley Hemmingway-Hare found Marie and helped her to find a bed for the night and has been campaigning ever since to get Mariethe right care and help that she desperately needs.

JCF’s Street Care is a new appeal that aims to raise money to help the homeless. There are so many here in the UK like Marie, some out of choice but some out of a horrid circumstance.

Jaden says “Ialt can’t imagine how I would feel on the days when I feel poorly and all I want to do is stay in bed – people like Marie don’t have this option.”

So what can we do to help? There is no easy solution but we have to try to do something, even it’ssimply likebuying cold relief tablets, a hot meal, a sleeping bag, a battery radio or a phone top up.

If you are sitting at home reading this in your warm, comfortable surroundings, think about what it would be like to have no home, no safe place, no comforts and most of all NO ONE who cares!!

If you are moved to help Marie and countless others in Marie’s situation please decide how much you would like to donate by clickingHERE forthe link to ourGolden Giving page or go to Our Causespage on this website and click on the donate button justunder our logo at the top of the page and quote reference STREETCARE when giving your donation.

EVERY penny donated will go to help a homeless person in the UK – that is OUR PROMISE!!
